He's Courtney Upshaw's replacement.  Will be lucky if he gets 200 snaps.

He's basically going to spell Jarrett when he's winded, which won't be often.

Actually, this is a pretty good scheme fit after looking at it more closely.

He's another short, compact, stout dude.  6'2, 305 (says 305 on his bio, but dude looks like it's 315).

Looks like he can play both the 3T and 1T in our Base packages.  Which is exactly what we needed behind Senat and Jarrett.

Our Base DT/NT both swap back and forth between 3T and 1T depending on if it's an Under or Over play call.  So who's ever in there needs to be able to play both.  McClain can.

Will probably get more snaps than I thought, depending on how big a load we end up giving Senat.

Who?

It's basically one guy who's filling the backup role that Rubin, Vellano, and Upshaw played for us.  Like 350 snaps between them, mostly in our Base Under/Over package, plus some Bear fronts on goal line and trying to prevent 1st downs on short yardage.

Much needed veteran depth behind Jarret and Senat, essentially.

1 year deal for $4M, $500,000 guaranteed.

Absolutely worth it if he can play like he looked in 2016.

Also happens to be a USF alumni, where Senat just came from.  And he's best friend's with Jack Crawford, our other 5T DE/DT.

He is ASS lol him and Sione Fua. Its the reason we drafted Star and Short the next year in the first and second rounds respectively.

Nice.  Not a superstar, but he can play football... Guy looks active and disruptive, and it's nice to see some of the connections to our team already (friends with Jack C and alum from USF).  I agree with FrizzleBizzle; DQ will get the most out of him anyone can...

In 2016, Dallas had the #1 rushing defense, and McClain lead all Dallas DL’s in tackles.

PFF ranked McClain ahead of Hankins and right behind Poe.

His problem is injuries.  And scheme fit.  They played him at the 0-tech in Washington last year, trying to 2-gap next to two 1-gappers.

He fits better in our fronts and going to have better DL’s around him.

Again, he’s mostly depth.  May see 300 snaps, if that.

Never said anything wrong. He was good for a single year.
