The Elites

Thomas is tops all time in receptions in his first 2 years and top 10 in yards in the same time frame. He does what he's asked to do in our offense, and does it well.

You don't think he's elite? Ok. That's your opinion and with the amount of great receivers playing, you could go a bunch of different ways. Just know that there's not many people that would agree with you.

Yards per game - Julio - 95.3 / Thomas - 76.8

See the elite?

Thomas' number still puts him top 10 all time.

Different eras.  Julio gets 25% more yardage per game.  That discrepency precludes Thomas being elite because you simply can't have multiple standards for elite.

What was Julios YPG his first 2 seasons?

25% more yardage but he rarely scores.

3 TD's ain't gonna cut it.

Not pertinent.  It is you trying to claim Thomas is at elite level play after two seasons.

12.4 career ypc won't cut it.

Did you really just imply Jones comes from a different era than Thomas?

Both were drafted and play in the same decade.

lol

It is pertinent, because you act as if Julio started out at 95 YPG. Julio was an elite receiver after his second year as well.

Your viewpoint would be noted if it were only me. It's a pretty widely based viewpoint. Email PFF and let them know they're wrong.

As 310 pointed out, dink and dunk.

No big plays, no crazy yardage games.  Slot numbers for a wideout.

Feel free to quote where "you act as if Julio started out at 95 YPG"

You are comparing Thomas to Julio today.  Stop trying to move your own goalposts

Consistent is what I'd call it. Antonio Brown averaged 12 YPC last year. He was first team all pro and consensus top 2 receiver in football.

I'm not moving any goalposts Jimbob.

I think the top 2 receivers are above the rest of the field. It's Julio and AB then everyone else. Does that make them the elite guys in the league? I guess one could say so, because I don't think anyone else is quite on their level.

But, being that there are at least 64 starting receivers in football, I think the elite square is a bit bigger. I'd include Hopkins, OBJ, and Thomas. One could make the case for Green. I think he's lost a step, myself. One could make a case for Evans.

I'm done with the argument, however. We'll have to agree to disagree.

Brown averaged 15.2 ypc last year.

"Elite" means best of the best.  If there is a significant measurable difference, then the lower performer cannot be best of the best.  Guys like Rice and Megatron set singular elite performance standards.

Your comparisons are like puttings Brees' mvp in a single game vs Ryan's mvp over 256 games.

1 vastly outweighs the other.

I told you I'm done with the argument. Just wanted to clarify what I meant by last year.
