Asking for some T & P's for Poppi

Recommended Posts

Our Basset Hound of 10 years just went under the knife to remove a tumor on his belly. Vet said it looked cancerous and braced us what to expect.

We just lost Maggie 5 months ago, I'm not ready to lose another.

I gotcha on this...my best buddy Charlie , an 8 year old Boxer/Lab mix has a big lump under his breast plate. Came back as a fatty deposit . Just sent certified mail upstairs for Poppi .

That's tough news for sure. These little critters are like children to us all.

Update: Poppi is a bit sore and groggy, but is doing fine. Now it's just a waiting game for his test results.

Thank you for the update. How long until the results come back?

Just got some bad news from the vet, the biopsy came back positive. The vet is going to go over our options when we go back to have his stitches removed. Trying to remain positive.

Sorry DD, stay strong man.

It's never easy knowing pets don't outlive us and we must face to inevitable. Bring your mind to a place knowing you'll spoil and do right by Poppi.

Any updates?

He's on several different meds, but seems fine and dandy. Matter of fact, his appetite has basically doubled since his stiches were removed. For now, he's doing the normal Bassett Hound routine of sleeping, eating and little else.

Bassett's are great, loyal dogs.

Love them!

Btw...glad that Poppi is feeling better!

Brought both mine to the vet yesterday for their checkups.

My 10 year old has an abscess tooth and a tumor and is having surgery for both in the morning
