I believe that Freeman's brains are scrambled from the concussions.
Right after Free got paid , after holding us hostage to be the highest paid RB , he went to complete shit. Starting with the infamous missed block.

this seems to happen with a lot of our players.
I remember Ryan after his big contract played like shit for years, then on contract year dude balled out.
This seems to be a thing in the NFL. Play like a monster, get paid big, fall off the wagon, get replaced, want big money again, play for cheap, ball big, get paid big again, fall off the map again.

I wish they made it like the ( was it XFL or the Alliance league ? ) where they only get paid half their salary if they lose. You got to win the game to get full pay. If the NFL did THAT , you would see motherfuckers stepping and fetching.

IMO , that half pay for losing thing is one of the best things ever in sports history , but it got little attention by media and peeps.

Same thing Ingram pulled in NOLA.
Was offered a solid contract, turned it down and the next day he was replaced.

From everything that was being reported his agent didnt even let us try and match anything Baltimore offered. They said they had a bogus 8 million dollar offer from the Ravens. Saints rightfully said no thanks and moved on. Saints would have easiky matched that 4.5 million imo.

Correct.
The Saints were clear they weren’t breaking the bank on Ingram for weeks while the discussions were underway.
Loomis put a $4M offer on the table, the Agent countered at $8M.
Loomis decided to move quickly because FA was underway and he took the next best RB on their board.
Ingram’s time in NOLA was over at that moment.

Yea, I if I were an NFL GM , I would be drafting good RB talent , ( starter quality - top 3 rounds ) like every 3 years. Then cut ties when they hit their next contract . Get 4 years outta them and let some other GM sign Leveon Bell . No RB in the league worth more than 8 per IMO. Not in the environment when you can plug and play them.

I agree to an extent. I dont like blanket statements like that because every so often you find the exception to the rule. I mean are you really going to not re-sign someone like Barkley

It’s never an advantage to sit out the year.

He’ll lose millions he’ll never recoup, another RB class arrives via the draft next year that in comparison plays for peanuts, plus teams take a dim view of players who decide to sit it out.
